Our Story

The seed for Jones Branz & Whitaker LLP was planted over fifteen years ago when Tim Jones spent two years serving as Supervisor of the Estates Division of the Wake County Clerk of Superior Court.  During this time, Tim became aware of the large number of North Carolinians who failed to get the assistance of an attorney in preparing estate plans during life or in administering estates after the death of a loved one.  Tim also became aware of the consequences that result from not having an estate plan or having a bad estate plan and the consequences of not receiving guidance through the estate administration process.  A few years after leaving the Clerk’s office, Tim started his own firm with the goal of reaching the population that was not being adequately served by the rest of the profession.  Since 2009, the firm has continued to grow, adding attorneys and office locations along the way.  It has been our pleasure to help thousands of families over the years see that their wishes, both during life and after death, are carried out properly.
